Meet The Staff


Dorie Geistdorfer, aka “Mama G”, is the District President. She was saved at 31 while attending VBS and she has served the Lord ever since!
She works full time in the world of re-insurance and is blessed to be able to juggle both work and ministry. She has a heart for teens and has served on the Philadelphia District as a Youth and Young Adult leader since 2008. She has been part of the district in many different roles: camp counselor, church administration, registration for all district events, event coordination for District Assembly, head of spirit of FOL and teaching young adult girls bible studies. You will find her running around teen events acting like a teen herself! She is well known for her desire to mentor, love on and grow with the teens of our district. Dorie is married to Pastor Jarrod Geistdorfer and has two young adult children, Alex 24 and Avery 21. She is dedicated to helping the Philly NYI District grow. She is excited and happy to be part of a rich tradition of LOVE and FUN on our district!

  • What do you do for the Philadelphia District NYI? I serve as the District President working with our great Philly Leaders.
  • What is your favorite food? I would say Sushi or Mexican. We have tacos at least once a week at our house.
  • What is your favorite TV show? Probably, Fixer Upper – but I really prefer to play games instead of watch TV.
  • What was your first job? Cashier at Rite Aid Pharmacy.
  • For fun I enjoy:Being outside, Running!, camping, fishing, reading a book, spending time with my family, and playing games.
  • What was your childhood ambition? A super spy!
  • Favorite Bible verse or passage? Psalm 1
  • What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ? Forgiveness. Without forgiveness, it is difficult to truly love as Jesus loved.


Darin Parry grew up in the Promised Land Church of the Nazarene, formerly Easton, on the Philadelphia District.  As a teen, he was actively involved in NYI District events.  Some of his fondest memories growing up were made with friends and adults at district NYI events.  He believes strongly that Philadelphia District NYI events and activities should be inclusive and welcoming to all our district churches and teens.  He writes, “The District NYI is here to serve, empower, and enrich local church ministry, no matter its size.  We are not a replacement for local church ministry, but rather a partner in ministry for the benefit of our district teens and the glory of God’s Kingdom.”   Darin currently serves as the pastor to Youth and their Families and Young Adults as the New Holland Church of the Nazarene, loving everything about his job there, but the people are what makes it FUN!

  • What do you do for the Philadelphia District NYI? I am the District Teen Camp Director.
  • What is your favorite meal?  Spaghetti and Meatballs with Garlic Bread and Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream for dessert.
  • What was your first job?  I was a service attendant at a neighborhood gas station.
  • Where did you attend college?  I attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and graduated class of ‘99
  • For fun I enjoy:  Reading about current events, sharing in conversation over coffee, watching and playing sports, and eating ice cream.
  • Favorite Bible verse or passage? Phil 3:14
  • What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ?  Forgiveness.  Jesus knew those closest to him would betray him.  Yet, he offered his forgiveness, mercy, and very life for them(and all of us). His forgiveness is life-changing.


Drew Johnson is a member of Cornerstone Family Church in Limerick, PA.  He serves as a teen leader at Cornerstone church in addition to helping to lead the worship on Sunday mornings.  He has served on numerous mission trips around the world with a number of organizations.  As a full-time job, Drew teaches middle schoolers the beauty of mathematics.  He attempts to live out the servant’s prayer each day in his life, “Give me the heart of a servant, tender, faithful, and true.  Fill me with love, then use me O Lord, so that the world can see You.” For Drew, there is nothing more rewarding than to see a young person sharing their talents in serving and loving others in the name of Jesus.

  • What is your favorite food? Fuji apples & any flavor of ice cream
  • Who is your favorite Youtuber? Matt Parker (it’s a math thing…)
  • What was your first job? Freddy Hill farms – golf shack cashier
  • What was your childhood ambition? I still plan on being a radio DJ when I grew up
  • For fun I enjoy: Singing, running, listening to classical music, eating out for breakfast, and playing random games
  • Favorite Bible verse or passage? For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
  • What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ? The Lord is my banner over me.


Jay is the Philadelphia District NYI Young Adult Representative. He currently serves as the Pastor of Brookside Community Church of the Nazarene He is married to Dorie Geistdorfer aka: Mamma G. They have 2 kids: Alex 24, and Avery, 21.

  • What do you do for the Philadelphia District NYI? I am the District NYI Young Adult representative.
  • What is your favorite food? BEEF – I love a good steak anywhere and anytime!! Add some Bacon and I’m yours!
  • What is your favorite TV show? Meat Eater – it’s a hunting show where they go on crazy hunting adventures.
  • What was your first job? I used to catch Carp fish at the spillway and sell them to a guy in town for a dollar each. I would make about 20 bucks a weekend!
  • What was your childhood ambition? I wanted to be a Texas Ranger Baseball Player, and a Texas Ranger.
  • For fun I enjoy: Hunting and Fishing and Loving on my family and church.
  • Favorite Bible verse or passage? Romans 12 – I want to live as a sacrifice Holy and Pleasing to the Lord!
  • What is one of your favorite characteristics of Christ? He loved his People so much he would be present in their Pain – Bible says “He wept” when he saw us broken in our sadness!


Hi!  My name is Tami Murphy, and I am your NYI Treasurer. I graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and completed my master’s degree in molecular biology from Villanova University.  I have a husband, Eric, and two little girls, Averi and Reeselyn,  We attend New Holland Church of the Nazarene where I am an active member of the King’s Closet, a free clothing ministry to the community and surrounding areas, as well as in the Children’s Department as a toddler Sunday School teacher.  I was a teen on the Philly district not *too* many years ago, and I can still remember what an impactful time that was on my spiritual life and growth in my relationship with Jesus Christ.  As your Treasurer, I love being able to help keep these awesome programs and events running smoothly from a financial perspective with the hope that the amazing teens currently on our district can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ as well, just like I did all those years ago.  I am here to serve you, so definitely feel free to reach out if there’s anything I can do to help!

  • What was your first job? Caregiver in a nursing home.  I love old people!
  • What was your childhood ambition? To be a marine biologist annnndd work at Sea World.
  • For fun I enjoy: Spending time with my family, helping people, and scoring free or super cheap deals!
